Recent Changes

  • The weather station should be working again (again). I am hoping it will runs happily for a couple of weeks now but I don't have remote access so if it does go wrong it will have to wait until I get back to Lasham again (again!).
  • The first of the new cameras is up and operating at my home - see LW-CAM6 (14/3/2022)
  • There are no operational cameras at Lasham...
... since the clubhouse fire. I will maintain one or two at home and was already looking into new cameras and a better internet connection for the southside. I will try to come up with a solution which also works northside until we have a clubhouse again...

On the brighter side:

  • I have bought kit which will, hopefully, solve internet connectivity. I am evaluating that at home...
  • I have bought a variety of new cameras. I am evaluating / playing them with at home. You might see some of that on the Cameras page

Timescales (possibly)

  • Aiming to get the weather station operational again by March 1st.
  • Aiming to get the new south-side network working before the regionals (needed for wx station and new cameras).
  • Aiming to get some / all of the new cameras operational again by the end of March before the regionals.

Massive TODO list

  • ✓Try to get the weather station working again
(if I manage it I will probably have to discard the rest of February's data)
  • ✓(wip) Evaluate new 4G modem and VPN
(for south-side network / weather station / new cameras)
  • ✓Evaluate new 5MP, fixed-focus camera (images, software and wx-proof fixings)
(these should be good to replace the existing cameras - which were quite good anyway)
  • ✓Evaluate new 8MP, variable focus camera (images, software and wx-proof fixings)
(with adjustable field of view we should be able to get higher resolution images with less lens distortion)
  • ✓(wip) Evaluate new 8MP, PTZ camera (images, software and wx-proof fixings)
(The intention is to put this up the 10m mast and give a near 360° view of the airfield and horizon and cover most of the areas that the fixed cameras don't)
  • ✓Setup new PC to replace the one ruined in the fire
  • Install new network south-side
  • Get rid of old internet connection
  • Install south-side cameras
  • Either get the clubhouse cameras working again (temporarily)
  • ... or retrieve them and see if they are ok.
  • Install new network and PC north-side
  • Install new north-side cameras (temporarily? ...)
  • Manage another scan without tumours
  • get driving again
  • ✓get a car
  • get flying again
  • LS6 online and annual
  • Fly her!
  • Sell some varios!
  • Build a new clubhouse to mount some new cameras 😀
  • The anemometer was fixed, but the wind direction needs tuning (it is probably within 20 degrees). (9/7/2020)
